16th July 2015 Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe Wind Direction: e Wind Stength: 14/18 Surf / Sea State: horrendous outside-flat inside Air Temperature: 18 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: 25.97 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 24.55 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) No windsurfing this week for me as I have been working for 4 days but with Friday looking promising I was always having this day off ! Then today the job finished early and was back in Felixstowe by 3:45 and at The Dip by 4 but when I reached there I noticed one of my trailer tyres was flat but only at the bottom !!! I couldn't be bothered to change it first so rigged by my big shortboard with my 8.5 and headed out, again it was horrendously rough on the outside:( but after beating up to the Golf Club beach found some flat water on the inside :) The only downside was the wind was lightest where the water was flatest ! I was a bit under powdered the whole session but it was nice to be out in the sunshine and all by myself !!! Then late in the session the sun disappeared and 6 kiters turned up to play :) After playing in the flat water for ages I beat into the River Deben where the water was very smooth with a strong current, sadly the the wind didn't play ball but did manage a 25 kt run in light wind. I then exited the wild River mouth just missing a couple of canoes before heading out to sea to do a mile run which was cool in the bumpy sea - not a bad session and fingers crossed for more wind tomorrow! |
